This app is great for someone who already owns AutoCAD and is capable of sending files to an iPad PRO with all aspects they want already set and created.
Drawing in 2D model space is great! But a lot of functionality in model space is removed. Pro ver. has properties disabled but you can view the settings. No dimension style changes. There is no Command line. Changing layer colors is disabled. Line-weight is set to 0 and cannot be changed. Copy and Paste between files is disabled. No direct printing. You have to export to email as a .pdf or .dwg then print from Pdf viewer etc.
Dont buy this thinking you will be able to create functional files from the iPad or adjust the layout ports to print what you want. There are no port view sizing or location adjustments of model space.
This product has been in the works for years. It is clear that its purpose is only to facilitate a file made from a Full ver. of AutoCAD on a desktop. If they wanted it functional, it would be functional.
iPad PRO is more functional than an old 286 that used to run CAD fine.
Dont buy an iPad Pro thinking you will get to do much more than just draw in 2D model space with AutoCAD 360.
Save your money and next year buy a full version of AutoCAD, a new computer, a subscription to AutoCAD 360, and a next gen. iPad.
Or go find a loaner computer with AutoCAD to create your initial files and buy Autodesk Buzzsaw so you can get them to your iPad.
Or start a business making starter files for people who need AutoCAD files functional on the iPad PRO.
This app is great if you are a client who needs to look at a file. Great for 2D adjustments of existing lines.
Time to return iPad PRO then buy a PC laptop and a full ver. of AutoCAD. Reassess AutoCAD 360 app in a few years or iPad PRO when it is no longer on iOS.
I did not review anything but 2D model space and layout. Other reviews online suggest 3D is worse than 2D.
I recommend AutoCAD 360 making this program more functional than an old 286 from 1980s or renaming the app to something less misleading in terms of functionality. This App should be called, AutoCAD Trial.
AutoCAD 360 does not do the technology of the iPad PRO justice. Apple has made a wonderful
product that is more than capable of running a better ver. of AtuoCAD 360. Lets hope Autodesk takes it to heart so apple can get more sales and this review can be changed.
Be better! Turn it around!
